We’re delighted to announce that our annual WA 720 & Head-to-Head Tournament is back for another year—and once again, it’s a World Record Status (WRS) event!
Whether you’re chasing a new PB, looking to gain ranking points, or simply want to enjoy a fantastic day of competitive archery, we’d love to welcome you to Wigan & Orrell Archers.

Following feedback and our experience from previous years, we’ve made a small change to the format. Head-to-Head competitions are significantly more complex to administer than standard target rounds, and in recent years, we’ve seen very few entries in some of the age-specific categories. To ensure the event runs as smoothly as possible while providing a full and competitive Head-to-Head experience, this year’s tournament will initially be offered at the standard senior distances:
- 70 metres – Recurve & Longbow
- 50 metres – Compound & Barebow
However, we don’t want anyone to miss out. If there is sufficient demand, we will also open 60 metre categories for 50+ archers and Under-18s, so if you’d be interested in shooting these categories, please let us know when entering or get in touch with the tournament team.
As always, our fantastic team of volunteers will be on hand throughout the day, with refreshments available and a friendly atmosphere guaranteed. We look forward to welcoming both familiar faces and first-time visitors for another great day of shooting.
